Hello,
One step closer to publishing!
The Silver Well and The Glass Prison are both finished and my New York agent has them. He is approaching publishers now. It is a great relief that things are finally moving forwards and I should have more news for you soon. Why do things like this usually take longer than expected?
I have had a wonderful time working on The Glass Prison. Now it is done I am concentrating on illustrations for The Silver Well and The Glass Prison. There is a lot to do; more maps and about sixty ink illustrations in the two books.
When the publishing of The Kingdom Of Gems trilogy in underway then, the idea of making films can be pursued. I have the biggest agency in the world representing me with this and they are very enthusiastic! That is a little way off but it looks extremely positive.
Candara’s Gift will be published in Turkey very soon, probably this month. Exciting! I can’t wait to have a copy in my hands.
I’ll let you know when there is more news.
Jasper

Hi Steph,
I just discovered your comment as my alert has been going into spam! Thank you, and I’m so glad that you enjoyed Candara’s Gift.
Unfortunately, I have no new news about the next 2 books. My agent in New York is still trying hard to sort out a publisher. The books are written, so hopefully it will happen soon.

Hi Lauren,
I’m really glad you are enjoying The Silver Well so much! Yes, the third book, The Glass Prison is exciting as the first 2… probably more exciting. But you let me know when you’ve read it.
April 26, 2011 @ 12:23 pmHi Jasper,
I have only just started reading your first book Candara’s Gift and i’m already hooked! Is there any advice for a young girl who wants to be an author?

December 23, 2011 @ 12:19 pmEmma,
I’m really glad I’ve hooked you on Candara’s Gift!
Yes, the main advice is to keep writing, and being creative. How old are you? You obviously enjoy it, which is most important. You could create writing projects for yourself… eg create a book, which could be a short story, for your parent’s birthday – or something like that. Try to have something always on the go. This way you will be improving. I hope that helps.

December 23, 2011 @ 2:11 pmHello
My name is Phoebe I don’t know if you remember me but I spoke to you in Waterstons in Finchley Rd before Xmas, but anyways I would like to give my comments about the first book (Candara’s Gift).I found it fantastic & loved the animal characters I cant wait to read the second book (The Silver Well)
When I met you I forgot to ask you if there are more than 3 books?
I’m giving you my Mum’s email as I dont have one yet.
Thank you for the enjoyable read & escape to another world
Phoebe
January 28, 2012 @ 10:32 amHello Phoebe,
Great to hear from you. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed Candara’s Gift so much. let me know how you get on with the Silver Well.
At the moment there are only three books… but there will be more! The next one planned in The Kingdom of Gems world will probably be called The Glyifild Bell.
Also, I have finished an adventure book about a monkey which I hope to publish this year – so keep a look out for that.
Have you read any of the KOG world stories yet? You remember I gave you a membership card? Now that you’ve finished Candara’s Gift, you could print out the Level 1 stories and read those.
Keep in touch,
Jasper
