One step closer to publishing!
The Silver Well and The Glass Prison are both finished and my New York agent has them. He is approaching publishers now. It is a great relief that things are finally moving forwards and I should have more news for you soon. Why do things like this usually take longer than expected?
I have had a wonderful time working on The Glass Prison. Now it is done I am concentrating on illustrations for The Silver Well and The Glass Prison. There is a lot to do; more maps and about sixty ink illustrations in the two books.
When the publishing of The Kingdom Of Gems trilogy in underway then, the idea of making films can be pursued. I have the biggest agency in the world representing me with this and they are very enthusiastic! That is a little way off but it looks extremely positive.
Candara’s Gift will be published in Turkey very soon, probably this month. Exciting! I can’t wait to have a copy in my hands.
I’ll let you know when there is more news.

Unfortunately, I have no new news about the next 2 books. My agent in New York is still trying hard to sort out a publisher. The books are written, so hopefully it will happen soon.

Yes, the main advice is to keep writing, and being creative. How old are you? You obviously enjoy it, which is most important. You could create writing projects for yourself… eg create a book, which could be a short story, for your parent’s birthday – or something like that. Try to have something always on the go. This way you will be improving. I hope that helps.

At the moment there are only three books… but there will be more! The next one planned in The Kingdom of Gems world will probably be called The Glyifild Bell.
Also, I have finished an adventure book about a monkey which I hope to publish this year – so keep a look out for that.
Have you read any of the KOG world stories yet? You remember I gave you a membership card? Now that you’ve finished Candara’s Gift, you could print out the Level 1 stories and read those.

it is amazing i am really looking foward to reading ell of them and wanted to ask you if there will be more books after the Glyifield Bell ?
i also wanted to know if you will be selling more books in the o2 center in waterstones if so could you tell me when because i would like yoto sign my book 2 and buy the third

It’s great to hear from you. Sorry about the delay in replying.
There will be more after the Glyifild Bell set in the same fantasy world, but the Glyifild Bell has to be written first! I have just finished a book about a monkey – an exciting adventure. If you are enjoying The Kingdom of Gems you will definitely enjoy this book too. I am planning to publish it this year.

I am doing more Waterstone’s signings and will put a list on a new blog post later today. I do not have one arranged at the 02 centre (is that in Finchley) at the moment, but may well do another there or nearby.

Hello Mr.cooper you came to our school on febuary24th and explained about all your books. At the end I stayed behind and helped you pack away, I was the tallest one and was with the head boy Brandon. The following day i went to waterstones from football with my mum and i bought all three of your books. I have read half of the book in two days and can’t let go of it, in fact i have it right in my now. If you would like some feedback please reply.

the nearest waterstones is the o2 center in finchely but every saturday i go to french school in elling broadway and there is a o2 center were there is a waterstones my mum went there but there was no kingdom of gems i still haven’t got the third book because i am soooo busy

I have just emailed the Waterstone’s in the Finchley 02 Centre to organise another event there. I will let you know if we can organise it. I can certainly sign The Silver Well if you bring it in, and also The Glass Prison if you have it by then. I will tick them off for not having it in stock!!
In the meantime, have a great trip to France and keep enjoying The Kingdom of Gems. Also, have you joined KOGworld yet for the short stories?
